Sunday 03rd of August 2008
I’ve got a bit of bad news for you, faithful readers: Captain August is on hold for the duration of the month. August, ironically, will be dedicated solely towards drawing at fever-pitch my long-awaited graphic novel Quelle Horreur. The first part was drawn about 2,5 years ago when I was still with Goldfish Factory. I never was able to finish it properly, but it was always something I knew I had to do.
And that time is now. In September there’s the big Abunai anime convention in the Netherlands and that will be the time and place where Quelle Horreur is finally presented to the public in its completed form. That means I have to draw 52 pages in one month though, which boils down to ‘drawing my every waking moment’ and no time for the Captain, unfortunately. In September, I promise we’ll get rocking again. Until then; this is an excellent point to reread the comic from A to Z, or to try one last time to grasp the apparently unfathomable depths of Year Three.
I’ll see you all back in September!
